Resume & Cover Letter Critiquing Services

January is your time to prepare and get ready for upcoming volunteer/job opportunities!


We are excited to announce that we will be providing weekly resume/cover letter critiquing services. HTLC will have drop-off hours every Friday, so students can bring their resumes for our review. We will also have drop-in hours every Thursday for students who would like to discuss their resume/CV. The critique will include our constructive feedback, comments and suggestions on content and formatting [in addition to typos and grammatical errors].

Weekly Resume/Cover Letter Drop Off Times are EVERY FRIDAY

Drop off hours are every Friday between 9:00am-12:00pm in room CNH 102 B/D

Drop in hours are every Thursday between 1:00pm- 3:00pm in room CNH 102 B/D

You may think winter is too early to think about summer jobs. The reality is that It’s never too early to begin looking because recruitment for summer employment often begins around January [sometimes earlier!]

Sign up for one of our upcoming sessions to learn about HOW and WHERE you can begin looking for summer employment with organizations such as the City of Hamilton, Ontario Government, and McMaster.

CVA is a network of weekly groups where you volunteer with other McMaster students at placements all across Hamilton. There are currently 22 weekly volunteer groups that are in need of volunteers! If you are interested in going on exchange for one or two terms, it’s not too late to attend an information session run by the International Student Services [ISS] office or by HTLC which is MANDATORY for everyone who plans to submit an application.
